Which ROMs are most likely to be painful if you have supraspinatus tendinopathy?

A

2: ACTIVE and RESISTED abduction

Things that won’t show up:

ext rot (not a rotator of GH joint, is primarily an abductor)

Adduction (to have this we must already be abducted which would hurt already, can also only abduct to neutral so not super helpful)

*THINK ABOUT SUPRASPINATUS JOB, can’t stretch it because of location

Which ROM tests are most likely to be painful with infraspinatus tendinopathy?

A
  • active and resisted EXTERNAL ROTATION (infraspinatus’s job is external rotation so you’re asking it to contract)
  • passive INT. ROT. (Can get to end range and pull the infraspinatus)

Where are you most likely to feel pain, if you experience an SAI?

A
  • under the edge of the acromion, could hurt at side or front cause it wraps around (primary pain region)
  • can hurt @deltoid
  • can get pain at posterior shoulder
