Intercalator general MOA

A

“slip” in between stacked bases of DNA and disrupt its normal operation - ie - DNA and RNA synthesis.
cause radical formation and break DNA strand. Inhibit Topo2. Stack and stretch DNA mismatch.

—Cells have ion pool which is where cardiotoxicity

Give before doxorubicin to reduce heart failure. Complexes with iron. But enhances myelosuppression caused by doxorubicin.
