This kick is for mid-level kicks. The target is sideways, not up or down. To perform this kick, rotate your hips then extend forwards towards the target, and your standing foot has to pivot as well. Foot should be in a plantarflexion.

Turn your standing foot through 180’. This means that when you strike the target the toes of your standing foot point backwards. As your foot turns you can push off it, letting you use your powerful hip, and core muscles to drive your kicking foot out. Foot should be in a dorsiflexion.
