l15 not 16 Flashcards
ans involve in which structures
gland, cardiac + smooth muscle,
visceral organ
enteric nervous system function
independently from cns
bowel mobility + digestive
what is the 2 cells pathway
- preganglionic neuron
- postganglionic neuron
what control ans
hypothalamus
which hypothalamus is influenced by cortex
sympathetic preganglionic neuron where?
sympathetic preganglionic fibres pathway
t1 l2
- paravertebral chain ganglia
- prevertebral chain ganglia
- chromafin cell inadrenal gland
parasympathetic preganglionic neuron where?
Parasympathetic preganglionic fibres emerge where
brainstem
sacral spinal cord
the ganglia close to wall of target organ
paravertebral pathway:
synapse at paravertebral chain ganglia
- ganglionic neuron in t1 to l2: midbody
- inferior, superior, middle cervical, synapse ganglia there that target heart head
- sacral, synapse there for lower limb + reproductive organ
prevertebral pathway
not synapse at chain ganglia but go to specific plexus
synapse ganglia that target specific organ
autonomic sensory fibres
sensory from visceral travel via autonomic fibre via dorsal root ganglia together with somatic fibres (same pathway as somatic sensory)
-> pain from visceral is revised as referred pain from somatic tissue
eg heart attack -> pain from shoulder
