Q

What happens in the prophase?

4

A

Chromosomes become visible (chromatin condenses)

Nuclear membrane breaks down

Nucleolus disappears

Q

What happens in the metaphase?

2

A

Chromosomes line up centrometers on the equator of the cell (1 straight line)

Centrioles form spindle fibres which attach to centrometers

Q

What happens in the anaphase?

2

A

Spindles shorten + break apart sister chromatids

Daughter chromosomes migrate to poles
