Q

What is a waterfall?

A

A waterfall is in the upper course and the water falls down the hard rock and falls to the soft rock however that wares away. The soft rock gets smaller and the water travels faster as it falls deeper.

Q

What are Gorges?

A

Gorges are waterfalls however on top the hard rock wares away and the soft rock erodes faster. This makes it smaller and deeper. They are narrow and they are in between mountains. They are lower course.

16
Q

What are meanders and ox bow lakes?

A

Meanders are rivers and the ware away from the power of the water and it bends. The channel widens as more water goes sideways. It then becomes deposition and the friction makes the water travel faster. It then detaches and becomes an ox bow lake and it becomes a new channel. They are lower course.

17
Q

What are v shaped valleys?

A

V shaped valleys are upper course and they erode and become different shapes as they get deeper. The water travels and it erodes and breaks the material. The water the becomes different heights as the material breaks.

18
Q

What are interlocking Spurs?

A

Interlocking Spurs are upper course and they travel with water between hills or mountains. They are narrow and they travel thought the material in a river path.

19
Q

What are floodplains?

A

Floodplains are an area that water can flood and it is a good place for forming architecture. It can stretch from banks to its channel. It can loose power and it is flat. It is a river and heavy rain can make it flood.

20
Q

What are levees?

A

Levees are flood controls that are natural and any waste from the river banks are able to collect water. It can prevent floods from coming because of the material. It is lower course and the floods increase the size of the banks. The sediment would build up and the water level would get higher. The height of the levees are increased by the authorities and the strength is also changed.

21
Q

What are deltas?

A

Deltas are near the mouth of the sea and deposition forms it. The water would slow down and the sediment would drop which would create landforms. It is called distributary channels and they are separate to the shoreline. This is in the lower course and the sediment builds land and the waste builds up in between the distributary channels.
