Surgery
Radiation
Chemotherapy
Targeted Therapy

2

Radiation: Brachytherapy

- local treatment, radiation placed at the site you want it to work (ex: the eye) using a solid source of radiation

- Radiation therapy does not kill cancer cells right away. Takes days or weeks of treatment before DNA is damaged enough for cancer cells to die. Then, cancer cells keep dying for weeks or months after radiation therapy ends.

3

Cytotoxic Drugs:
Cell cycle-specific, meaning they act during a specific phase of the cell cycle

Methotrexate
Fluorouracil

4

Cytotoxic Drugs:
Cell cycle non-specific, not dependent on the cell being in a specific phase of the cell cycle, acts throughout the cell cycle

Mitomycin C
