Q

Describe how mindfulness and compassion are interrelated?

A

Mindfulness cultivates compassion:

  • What we practice becomes stronger
  • slowing down
  • interdependence
  • remembering our essential nature

Attitude: (acceptance, kindness, openness, etc.)

Slowing down:

  • when we are hurried, stressed, scared we lose touch with our natural compassion.
  • mindfulness helps us slow down, see clearly and stay connected to our deepest values

Interdependence:

  • We are all connected - regardless of religion, race, gender, sexuality, age, etc.
  • We are all part of this thing called “humanity”

Remembering our essential nature:
- Learning to welcome all of our experiences with compassion.. even the seemingly unforgivable ones.
