Case I/Case II/ CaseIII Recovery

A
  • Case I: anticipated aircraft won’t encounter IMC at any time during descent/break/pattern; need 1000/3 in control zone
  • Case II: When IMC is encountered during descent, but no less then 500/1 at ship; requires positive control till aircraft has visual on ship
  • Case III: used whenever weather is below case II (500-1), no visible horizon, or as directed by CO/OTC

  • Once established in Delta, switch pos lights flashing
  • Tower Sets Aldis
    Steady Red: continue holding
Flashing Green: come in to land
    Flashing Red: proceed to Bingo
  • Our signals to Boat
I require immediate landing: Fly close aboard starboard quarter with landing light and searchlight ONI desire to land but can wait: Fly or hover close aboard starboard quarter with pos lights flashing brightI’m proceeding to bingo: Fly close aboard with pos lights steady bright and rock wings

***Port side at night with no lights is assumed to have an emergency and require immediate landing
