Q

Are vectors, under radar control, from ATC low temp corrected?

A

ICAO recommends it but it’s not universally enforced

Q

How are enroute MORA/MRA:s temp corrected?

A

ISA-15 to -24 = 10%
ISA-25 to -34 = 15%
ISA-35 to -45 = 20%
> ISA -45 = 25%

Q

Why don’t we temp correct DA and FAF on a APV approach?

A

Obstacle clearance have has been assessed as acceptable with temperatures at or above the chart temperature limit

Q

On an APV approach, if the temperature is below the charted minimum temperature limit, can you still fly the approach?

A

Yes, but only to LNAV MDA and corrected as per Non-Precision Approach

Q

Describe how a manual correction for cold weather is done?

A
  1. Round down airport elevation to nearest 100 ft
  2. Calculate the heights. (Charted altitude-elevation)
  3. Get correction from table. Round down temp to nearest 5 deg column. Use nearest height row. If in between, use the higher row.
  4. Add correction to chart altitude

Q

Is the FPA corrected for low temperature?

A

Yes, by Altitude Change/Distance
Each 10 ft per nm change is +- 0,1 deg FPA
340 ft = 3,4 deg
300 ft = 3,0 deg
