What is Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL)
Uncommon, found in kids. Disorder of bone marrow cells (lymphid progenitors) “Limping child”
What is the presentation of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia?
2/3 Week HIstory of bone marrow failure i.e. bone or joint pain
What are the characteristics of A.L.L. Cells?

In Blood: Large Cells B-Cells Express CD19 In Bone Marrow: Looks marrow is replaced by blast

What is CLL?
Technically not actually Leukaemia.
Due to their maturity, they resemble normal lymphocytes.
Requires a B Cell Count >5 for diagnosis
How common is CLL?
The commonest leukaemia worldwide.
2:1 M:F ratio
What symptoms suggest CLL? (4)
Often asymptomatic, but may present as:
- Bone Marrow Failure (Anaemia / Thrombocytopaenia)
- Lymphadenopathy
- Splenomegaly
- Fever and Sweat
What are the staging of CLL?
Binet Staging:
A, B, C
(C has anaemia or thrombocytopenia)
