A

3 or more of:

  • withdrawal on cessation
  • tolerance
  • compulsion to drink
  • persistent desire to cut down
  • feels like alcohol uses up their time
  • neglect other interests
  • continued use despite negative effects

Mnemonic = Never Sip Cheap Wine That Tastes Nasty —> Negative effects, Stop (wants to), Compulsion, Withdrawal, Tolerance, Time, Neglect (of other interests)
