  • Pre-existing renal disease/renal impairment
  • Concurrent use of tetracycline ABs

Side Effects of Methoxyflurane

A
  • Drowsiness
  • Decrease in BP and bradycardia (rare)
  • Exceeding the max dose of 6ml in a 24hr period may lead to renal toxicity

A
  • Analgesia commences after 8-10 breaths
  • 3ml provides approximately 25min of analgesia
  • Lasts for approximately 3-5min once discontinued
