Q

osteoporosis vs osteomalacia

A

In osteomalacia, the mineral calcium hydroxyapatite is decreased resulting in “soft bones.” This differs from osteoporosis in that osteoporotic bones have a normal mineral content, but are porous and brittle, not soft.
