ankylosing spondylitis?
A chronic, progressive inflammatory disease involving the spinal joints and surrounding tissue, most common in young males.
Also called rheumatoid spondylitis.
ankylosis
Immobility and fixation of a joint.
It often results from chronic inflammation or disease.
arthritis.
Inflammation of a joint.
It encompasses various conditions affecting the joints.
chondrosarcoma?
A malignant tumor of cartilage.
It can occur in various locations in the body.
What is curvature of the spine?
An exaggerated spinal curve, such as scoliosis, lordosis, or kyphosis.
These conditions affect the normal alignment of the spine.
degenerative joint disease (DJD)
Osteoarthritis.
It is the most common form of arthritis.
What is a fracture?
A break in a bone.
In a closed fracture, the broken bone does not penetrate the skin; in an open fracture, there is an accompanying wound in the skin.
What is gout?
A form of acute arthritis, usually beginning in the knee or foot, caused by deposit of uric acid.
It often results in sudden and severe pain.
What is a herniated disk?
Protrusion of the center (nucleus pulposus) of an intervertebral disk into the spinal canal.
It can cause nerve pain and other symptoms.
kyphosis
An exaggerated curve of the spine in the thoracic region; hunchback, humpback.
It may lead to postural problems and discomfort.
