Origin- Alveolar Process of the Mandible and Maxilla
Insertion- Modiolus Orbicularis Oris
Modiolus- A dense, compact, mobile, fibromuscular tissue mass of facial muscles formed by the interlacing of a number of muscles just lateral to the angle of the mouth
Orbicularis Oris- around the mouth, specifically surrounding the lips
Masseter
Origin- Zygomatic arch and maxilla
Insertion- Coronoid process and Ramus of the Mandible
Coronoid process- a triangular process projecting forward from the anterior proximal portion of the bone.
Ramus- The curved part of a bone that gives structural support to the rest of the bone
Temporalis
Origin- Temporal Fossa
Inserrtion- Coronoid Process of the Mandible
Coronoid Process- a triangular process projecting forward from the anterior proximal portion of the bone.
