Myotome
a group of muscles innervated by a single spinal nerve root.
ASIA myotome levels
C5- elbow flexion
C6- wrist extension
C7- elbow extension
C8- finger flexion
T1- finger abduction
L2- hip flexion
L3- knee extension
L4- ankle dorsiflexion
L5- Great toe extension
S1- ankle plantarflexion
Brachial plexus injury myotome classification
(peripheral nerves outside of SC that are being affected)
*tested with a patient seated for cervical and thoracic myotomes and test the movements which have the strongest association with each myotome
C5- shoulder abduction
C6- elbow flexion and wrist extension
C7- elbow extension
C8-finger flexion
T1- finger abduction
L2- hip flexion
L3- knee extension
L4- ankle dorsiflexion
L5- great toe extension
S1- ankle plantar flexion

C3- neck lateral flexion
