Organisational chart
Shows the roles of people in an organisation and the relationship between them.
Role
The term role refers to what an individual does in an organisation.
Hierarchy
The hierarchy of the organisation is how the employees are arranged by rank and superiority.
AGM
Annual general meetings
What do senior managers do?
Help to create the company strategy and implement the big plans of the organisation.
What do middle and junior managers do?
Support senior managers in creating plans and schedules, then ensuring that they are carried out.
Dual board
A management board responsible for running the company on a day to day basis.
The dual board is monitored by a ‘supervisory’ board of directors. The chair will run the supervisory board while the managing director will run the management board.
Where are dual boards common?
European countries such as Germany and France and Asian countries such as China.
Unitary board
A single board of directors.
In what countries are unitary boards predominant?
The UK and South Africa.
