What is wilsons disease
autosomal recessive disorder of copper metabolism characterised by copper deposition in major organs
What are the presenting features of wilsons disease
- Jaundice
- Malaise
- Poor school preformance
- Age of onset about 15
- Copper ring around eye
What is sarciodosis
Abnormal collection of inflammatory cells that form lumps (granuloma) in the lungs
Presenting symptoms of sarciodosis
Main ones
- Persistent dry cough
- Fatigue
- SOB
Side ones
- Tender red raised patches on skin
- Red teary eyes and blurry vision
- Swollen painful joints
- Lymph nodes
- Hoarse voice
- Bone pain
- Kidney stones
- Hepatomegaly
Who gets sarciodosis
- Mostly women aged 20-40
What is myalgia
Muscle pain (localised)

autoimmune disease of unknown cause giving rise to systemic inflammation

- 20-49 women
Mild/common
- Joint and mm pain
- Butterfly rash
- Hair loss
- Lethargy

- Pleurisy
- Pericarditis
- Mouth ulcers
- Anaemia
- Hepatitis
- Arthritits
diagnostic criteria of systemic lupus erythematosus
- Malar skin rash
- Antiphospholipid antibodies
- Persistent thrombocytopenia (low platelets)
- Persistent proteinuria
- Discoid rash - Erythematous raised patches with adherent keratotic scaling and follicular plugging
- Oral ulcers
- Rash photosensitivity
- Arthritis
- Serositis - Pleuritis or pericarditis
- Renal disorders
- Neurological disorders
- Antinuclear - ANA positivity

- Moist cough
- Sinusitis
- Bronchitis
- Pneumonia
- Otitis media
- If left undetected infertility in men
what is Severe combined immune deficiency (SCID)
Rare genetic disorder affecting B and T cells of immune system
Presenting features of Severe combined immune deficiency (SCID)
- FTT
- Chronic refractory infections

Oral polio, MMR and BCG
Symptoms suggestive of migraine w/out aura
- Headache attacks lasting 1-72 hours
- Unilateral location
- Pulsing quality
- Moderate or severe pain intensity
- Aggravation by or causing avoidance of routine physical exertion (eg walking or climbing stairs)
- Nausea and/or vomiting
- Photophobia and phonophobia
what does paroxysmal mean
