Hydraulics & Pneumatics

⚙️ Definition

A

Pressure: Force applied per unit area (P = F/A), units = Pascals (Pa).
Hydraulics: Uses liquids to transmit force.
Pneumatics: Uses gases to transmit force.

Q

Compressibility: P & H

A

Liquids: Not compressible → good for precise control.
Gases: Compressible → better for cushioning/rapid motion.

Q

Circulatory System vs Hydraulic Systems

A

Component Human Body Hydraulic System
Pump Heart Hydraulic pump
Fluid Blood Oil or water
Pipes Blood vessels Tubing/pipes

Both transport fluids under pressure over long distances.
