morality principle formed in phallic stage by identifying with same sex parent. regulates behaviour.

insecure attachment infant internal working model for relationship lacks trust leading to negative interactions and crime
maternal deprivation can result in affectionless psychopathy

link between childhood and criminality can be applied. parenting classes
explains irrational and unmotivated crimes

not falsifiable or observable so can’t be empirically tested- unscientific
freud suggest as females don’t resolve the oedipus complex they should be less moral and weak superegos. alpha bias and inaccurate as women are less likely to be criminals
