Quiz 1 Flashcards
What type of Collagen is dominant in Dentin, cementum?
Type 1 collagen
What type of tissue forms the dentin, bone, cementum, PDL?
Ectomesenchyme
What type of tissue forms the enamel?
Ectoderm
What is the dental lamina
Thickening of the Primary epithelial band which dips down for initial tooth development
Difference between vestibular lamina and dental lamina?
Both thickening of the epithelium (dental will form tooth)
Bud goes to school, graduates and gets a Cap, and then the Bells ring
Stages of tooth formation
In the bud stage what induces growth in the mesenchyme?
Epithelium
What is the enamel organ?
Ectomesenchyme cells on the inside of the bell/cap stage Outer enamel epithelium Inner enamel epithelium Stratum intermedium Stellate reticulum??
Where is the dental papilla?
Under the cap/bell
Where is the dental sac?
Sack under the cap stage (surrounds the dental papilla too)
What is being induced during the cap stage and by what?
Mesenchyme induces the epithelium
Where’s the enamel knot?
Inside the enamel organ on top of the cap (eventual cusp tip)
What is the stellate reticulum?
Fills the middle of the enamel organ
Where is the stratum intermedium?
Right on top of the Inner enamel epithelium(on the cap)
What is the stratum intermedium?
helps with the enamel mineralization
