Q

If you are in uncontrolled airspace and plan to enter controlled airspace but have a comm failure, what should you do?

A

Avoid entering the controlled airspace, as you wont be able to talk to the controllers. Divert, if you can, to somehwere that does not require a clearance/permission to enter.

Q

What should you do prior to a NORDO flight if you plan to enter controlled airspace?

A

Call the control tower of the airspace to let them know your intentions and to secure a clearance to enter the airspace. They will then be expecting you and can give you light signals.

**To operate in class C, you must aquire such a clearance
