What are some anatomical changes during pregnancy

- breast enlargement
- increased pigment of skin
- uterine enlargment

- fall in progesterone concentration
- cervical dilation
- fetal head pushes against cervix stimulating sensory endings

- 1 hour
- more cervical dilation
- vaginal stretch stimulates contractions of abdominal walls
- periodic contractions increase in frequency 1 every 1-3 minutes

- myometrical contraction limits bleeding
