1) Little Red Rooster

A

6 Dancers- 5 Male 1 Female
5 Men Stationary, one starts doing rooster strut & grooming gestures
Direct Correlation with lyrics “Dogs Begin to Bark”- chicken flap jump, on repetition he acts like a begging dog
Woman who comes on is promiscuous and throws herself at men (groupie/ boy and idea)
Whole cast on at end
Transition to LJ: all find separate spots and slow down to stillness, men are first to move in LJ

2) Lady Jane

A

All 10 Dancers
Movement examples: Courtly dance (central couple), social dance (rest), Balletic moves e.g arabesques & lifts supported by men, grooming gestures e.g ties, men lead women
Man is perusing ‘lady jane’- she’s a challenge for him
Lady jane = marijuana
Transition to NFA: group disperse and leave the male and female duet

3) Not Fade Away

A

Starts with clapping at the group leave and m&f duet start
Movement Examples- Social dance, upbeat & contemporary, 60s jive style, she manipulated his movements e.g pushes and kicks, man does chicken jump
The man is more energetic and expressive, reflective of time
Transition to ATGB: male leaves, female traces waves of air with her hand and the LIGHT FADES AWAY

4) As Tears Go By

8 Dancers- 4 Male 4 Female
Movement examples- child like (reference to bruce’s childhood) solo women’s tantrums, turns and little runs, running up to people and turning around, women slaps man after women flirt with him, she repeats folding movement
man is actually trying to understand her unlike men in other sections
she folds and he carries her off, she puts her head up, smirks and slicks hair
Transition in to PIB: while she’s being carried off 1 male walks on back wards from the same wing

5) Paint It Black

A

4 Dancers- 1 Male 3 Female, act as backing dancers
Movement-Male is energetic (jumps and turns), women repeat motifs e.g. folded hands circling head, sexualised female movements e.g leading from hips or dragging hand up arm, jiving/60s arm gestures (arm waving), women manipulate mans movements, whip him with scarves at end, man crawls weakly on floor to them reaching
Transition to Ruby Tuesday: girl in red walks in when man is on the floor, he rushes off

6) Ruby Tuesday

A

5 dancers- female soloist & 4 men
Movements- hair twirling, low centre of gravity and flowing movement, yearning arabesques and off balance turning movements
throws herself in men’s arms and they manipulate her in more twists and turns
Transition in to Play With Fire: Female dancer folds over alone on stage and the lights fade, she walks off twiddling her hair as next pair (feather boa) walk on
