- The many similes leave us with many insights. The noun feather makes us believe that Scrooge is feeling free and positive. The imagery of a ‘schoolboy’ leads us to believe that Scrooge is back in school and will change his ways and attitudes. ‘Light as a feather’ also tells us that he is free from the heavy chains that will weigh him down, he has redeemed himself.
- The adjectives ‘light’ ‘happy’ ‘merry’ show us how Scrooge isn’t an ‘old sinner’ that he was back in stave 1 and how he has taken use of the opportunities and has changed for the better.
