What does Di George Syndrome do?

A

Deleted 30-40 genes located in chromosome 22

What are the effects of Di George Syndrome?

A

25% of people with it have Schz

What genes are linked to Schz?

A

COMT - reduces enzyme that breaks down certain NT’s
DISC1 - Linked to behavioural problems and is very hereditary
C4 - Removes too many synaptic connections, therefore creates negative symptoms
