what is force?
Is a push, pull, twist movement
What is an unbalanced force?
when one force is bigger than the other
What is a balanced force?
is when 2 or more forces cancel eachother out
what is air resistance?
is an oppoising force to gravity
what is friction?
is a contact forcewhen two objects rub together and can cause heat
what is gravity?
gravity is a non-contact force that pulls an object down
what is magnetism?
is a non-contact force
what is mass?
the amount of matter an object has
what is weight?
is how heavy or how light an object is
what is Newtons (N)?
is used to measure forces
what is Newtons first law?
An object in motion will remain in motion, or an object at rest will remain at rest, unless acted upon by an external, unbalanced force
what is Terminal Velocity?
is the speed that a free-falling object will eventually reach
What is useful friction?
when you want friction to happen between the two objects
What is unwanted friction?
when you don’t want friction to happen between two objects
what is a lever?
A lever is a simple matchine that makes it easier to do things
what is a first class lever?
when the fulcrum is between the effort and the load (EFL)
what is a second class lever?
when the load is between the effort and fulcrum (ELF)
what is a third class lever?
when the effort is between the fulcrum and load
what is a fulcrum?
is the piviot point in the lever
what is the effort?
is the external force applied to lift or move the load
what is the load?
is the object being moved by the lever
what is sinking?
the object thats sinking displaces/pushes aside liquid
what is floating?
the liquid pushes againest the object
what is neutral buoyancy?
is when the buoyancy is equal to the weight
