1

On the Safety and Power up Checklist, how many switches are not in the 12 o'clock position and which are they?

4 switches
Battery 1 and 2
Emergency Lights
Hydraulic Electric Pump 3A

2

When is the FIRE EXTINGUISHER panel check required?

As part of the Safety and Power Up Checklist for every crews first flight of the day in a particular airplane
If the aircraft was powered down
or
If the aircraft is received powered up, verify the safety and power up checklist items are complete and COMPLETE a Fire Test!!

3

When turning the batteries 1 and 2 to ON / AUTO, what 3 things must be checked?

Ensure the aircraft is not moved while the IESS is initialized. Takes 90 seconds
Verify ONLY displays 2 and 3 are powered
Verify Battery Voltage is between 21.0 and 22.5

4

If the battery voltage is below 22.5 but not lower than 21.0, what must be accomplished?

Recharge the battery prior to takeoff through ANY AC source according to the table on SOP PREFLIGHT 4-2.7

5

What is required for the APU to start?

Battery 1 must be ON and Battery 2 must be in AUTO

6

The electronic PBIT takes how long?

3 minutes

7

What interrupts the Electronic PBIT

Turning on any hydraulic pump

8

The Flight Control PBIT takes how long?

1 minute

9

What is required for the flight control PBIT to activate?

All 3 hydraulic systems are pressurized

10

What is the temperature limit of the hydraulic reservoir temp for the hydraulic PBIT to automatically run?

Hydraulic Reservoir temperature must be 10 degrees C or warmer for test to run. UNLESS the the PBIT is expired.

11

What is the hydraulic reservoir temperature limit for engine start?

-18 degrees C

12

If the hydraulic reservoir temperature is colder than -18 degrees C, what must be accomplished prior to engine start.

The hydraulic systems warm up must be accomplished. Found in SOP PREFLIGHT 4-2.13

13

When is the ADSP Heater Switch to be turned ON

On the first flight of the day with temperatures below -18 deg C or when the smart probes are frozen.

14

If the ADSP is frozen over, what might happen?

There might be an undesired airspeed indication; followed by EICAS messages:
AFCS FAULT
AT FAIL
AP FAIL
FD FAIL
YD FAIL
APPR 2 NOT AVAIL

15

After power up, a RAM AIR FAULT EICAS message is displayed for more than one minute. What is wrong?

It is a spurious message.
Clear it by turning PACK 1 and PACK 2 off. Wait 5 seconds then turn back ON

16

What must be accomplished prior to starting the external inspection?

Parking Brake ON
Determine there is enough hydraulic pressure to activate the parking brake to check the brake wear indicators

17

3 *** on the checklist indicates what?

Items must be accomplished when icing conditions exist or are suspected

18

On preflight a small amount of oil is present the engine chevron nozzle. Is this acceptable?

Yes... unless the puddle exceeds 4 inches

19

When must a Cold Weather Preflight be accomplished?

OAT is 5 deg C or less
Wing fuel temperature is 0 deg C or less
Conditions conducive to icing
Cold Soak ice is suspected in the fuel tank area
Remained overnight and was exposed to frost or icing
Residual ice from inbound flight

20

How much frost is permissible on the fuselage and wings?

Up to 1/8 inch of frost is permissible under the wings.
On the fuselage a thin layer where surface features are visible

21

Actuating the EMERGENCY ENTRY, the door will unlock automatically after how long?

30 seconds after the EMERG ENTRY pushbutton is pressed.

22

If INHIB is pressed, how long does the door remain locked?

500 seconds. = 8 minutes 20 seconds
