Q

What is a broadcast domain?

A

A domain in which a broadcast is forwarded. A broadcast domain contains all devices that can reach each other at the data link layer by using broadcasts. All ports on a switch/hub are in the same broadcast domain. All ports on a router are in different broadcast domains.

Q

What is a collision domain?

A

A part of the network where packet collisions can occur. All ports on a hub are in the same collision domain. All ports on a switch/bridge or router are in separate collision domains
