The bottom of the hand shake is a vulnerable position, the person on the left has more power (has the Upper Hand).

Nixon is just trying to get through the press conference, he is holding his hands behind his back (touch gesture). He also is holding something protecting himself. Defensive. (Cross arms, stand back, shake head).

The didn’t tell the truth, hiding something.
How does George Bush react non-verbally when he makes a mistake?
He becomes kind of like a kid, shoulder shrug

Why is eye contact important?
First its about making connections, Its a sign of respect, (some cultures don’t believe in eye contact)
What is Extemporaneous speaking?
A speech method where the speaker refers back to his or her short notes to prompt their speech. (tell stories, avoid fact heavy speeches, be expert on topic)
What is unconscious competence?
An individual has so much practice it becomes second nature, and they don’t even have to think about it any more.
What is Conscious Competence?
The individual knows how to do something but has to concentrate to do it.
