test 3- Esophagus/Stomach/duodenum Flashcards
(28 cards)
What path does the esophagus follow
- Follows the vertebral column concavity
- Passes through the esophageal hiatus of the diaphram at T10 lvl
What type of muscle composes the 3 thirds of the esophogus
upper- voluntary striated
middle- voluntary striated and smooth
bottom- smooth
What is the esophagus called above and below diaphram
above- thoracic
bellow- abdominal
Atrial supply of the esophagus
-Esophageal branches of the left gastric artery and left inferior phrenic artery
Thoracic esophagus venus drainage
thoracic–> esophageal veins–> azygos vein
Abdominal esophagus venus drainage
abdominal–> left gastric vein–> portal venous system–> liver
thoracic lymphatic drain what 3 things
- Jugular trunks
- Bronchomediastinal trunks
- Superior diaphragmatic nodes
Abdominal lymphatic drains into
celiac
Parasympathetic innervation of the esophagus
Vagal
Sympathetic supply of esophagus
thoracic sympathetic trink–> greater splanchnic nerve
Where is the mixed innervation always located
always around arteries that supply a structure
mixed innervation of esophagus
pariatrial plexus around the left gastric artery and left inferior phrenic artery
Where are more gastric fold located
along greater curvature and pyloris
Where is the angular incisure located
found on lesser curverature; between body of stomach + pyloris (pyloric antrum meets pyloric cannal)
Where and when does gastric canal form
temp during swallowing
- forms b/w longitudinal gastric folds along lesser curvature
Atrial supply of lesser+ greater curvature
less- supplied by anastomoses by r. + l. gastric arteroes
great- supplied by anastomoses by R + L gastro-omental arteries
venous supply of stomach
gastric veins–> hepatic portal system
Stomach lymphatic drainage
gastric and gastro-omental lymph nodes
parasympathetic innervation of stomach
anterior (mainly l vagus) + posterior vagel trunk (mainly r vagus nerves)`
Sympathetic innveration of stomach
T6-9 segments–> greater splanchnic–> celiac plecus
mixed innervation of stomach
periaterial plexus around gastric
gastro-omental arteries
duodenum proximal arterial supply
celiac trunk–> gastroduodenal artery–> superior pancreaticoduodenal artery
duodenum distal arterial supply
superior mesenteric artery–> inferior pancraticoduodenal artery
duodenal drainage
duodenal veins follow arteries and drain into hepatic portal system
