What were the causes?
• the bacteria yersinia pestis inside a fleas saliva
• when the flea bit an animal or a human it would pass on the bacteria and cause the animal to have the bubonic \ pneumonic plague
At what time of the year was the bubonic plague more dangerous and why ?
In the summer because the fleas would multiply quicker in the summer and die off in the cold of winter
Was the pneumonic plague affected by the weather ?
What parts of the body did the pneumonic plague attack ?
It attacks the lungs

Because they hadn't discovered what germs were yet

In 1345 the Black Death started to kill people in china and India (asia) and spread to Europe
How was it spread from Asia to Europe ?
What were the symptoms ?
•feeling cold and tired
•buboes in armpit and groin

How did people try to prevent it ?
-banned people from entering cities
-they cleaned cities of rubbish
-they whipped themselves
