CBT
Symptoms are the problem. Get rid of the symptoms, you’re riid of the problem. Change thoughts, feelings and behaviour will change accordingly
Contemplative
Suffering is a part of normal life. Controlling these thoughts and feelings increases suffering

2nd wave BT:
Changing negative thoughts/feelings, relaxation
Content of thoughts
Goal: reducing symptoms, symptoms are illness
3rd wave BT:
Mindfulness of thoughts/feelings, accepting them, Observation
Meta-cognitive, process of thinking io content
Goal: Work toward life goals, symptoms are functional
