Idiopathic inflammation of the Costochondral junction usually affecting ribs 2-4

MHP

Scheurmanns Disease

Disease of the epiphyseal plate region of the thoracic vertebral bodies; necrosis of the anterior aspect of the vertebral body

Spinal bifida

Incomplete closure of one or more neural arches embryonically

Spinal bifida occulata

(Hidden); look for overlying hairy patch
It is not a contraindication to play contact sports with the abnormality

Opening into the meninges

Opening is penetrating the myelin
Sac protruding through the skin
Associated with paralysis
