Function of: Cathode

Source of e- through thermionic emission

Used based on structure to image; larger structure = larger focal spot/larger filament.

High Z metal (ie. tungsten); high melting point and good thermal conductivity

It rotates via rotors. Stators keep it fixed so that it can rotate efficiently.

Creates vacuum = prevent e- from colliding with gas molecules.
