17
Q

Gluteal nerves

A

Cranial - Usally from L6, L7 and S1

  • Innervates median and deep gluteal muscles + Tensor facia lata muscle
  • Can be dissected with cranial gluteal artery

Caudal - Usally from L7, S1 and S2

  • Innervates superficial gluteal muscle
  • Variable origin
18
Q

N.ischiadicus

A

From L6, L7, S1 & S2
Gives of branches to the lateral muscles of thigh
- The lateral cutaneous sural n. usally comes from the common fibular nerve
- The caudal cutaneous sural n. usally comes from the tibial nerve.
- It terminates as the common fibular nerve and as the tibial nerve
