Additive

Idiosyncrasy
A rare toxic effect produced in a particularly sensitive individual but no seen in most patients
Interstitial
The IV fluid is running into the tissue, not the vein.
Narcotic
Habit forming drug used for acute pain which can cause stupor or insensitivity
Parenteral Administration
Administration of drugs by injection into the skin muscles or veins
Phenothiazine
Major tranquilizers used for control of psychosis
Sedative
A mild hypnotic drug. Relaxing without necessarily producing sleep
Side Effect
A toxic effect which routinely results in the use of a drug
Stimulant
An agent which excited and premotes functional activity
Tolerance
Condition I’d becoming resistant to the action of a drug; during treatment larger and larger doses must be administered to achieve the desired effect
