Transverse waves

A wave that vibrates at right angles to the direction of travel ( light and electromagnetic radiation)

A wave which has the vibrations along the sa,e direction as the direction it travels( sound and spring)

Measure of the distance of a particle from its equilibrium position in a medium as it transmits a second wave . It is measured in metres(m)

The number of waves passing a point. Measured in HZ (hertz)

The frequency increases , the time period decreases. It is measured in seconds.

Amplitude

Maximum distance moved by a point on a wave measured from the equilibrium position

The bottom of a transverse wave.

( velocity) Speed = frequency x wave length

What happens when waves travel through a medium

Oscillate and transfer energy between each other , but the particles stay in the same place, only energy id transferred

The soeed at which the energy is being transferred.
