What is scrum?

Team size?

Development framework, initially for SW, but can be modified for HW

How do sprints work?

Period time (2weeks) where each member delivers deliverables
ALWAYS must be a stable product

If 2 weeks isn’t enough for a sprint...

Deliverables weren’t delegated properly

Nature of work deep->requires longer period

What is the sprint process?

Meeting at beginning
Report in progress
New tasks delegated through combo of developer preferences and managers with load assessment
At end; new items assigned and review which deliverables were completed and not completed

What are the 3 roles at each scrum?

Scrum master: removes blockers
Product owner: defines requirements, constant user testing, scheduling, demos etc
Development team: everyone else

How are tasks assigned?

By understanding the value of deliverables and effort

Could use weight assignments

What is cost projection?

Try to project cash-flow until product launch

Requires constant revision

Projection = before starting

4 steps in cost projection

1. Identify cost items (equipment, labor etc)
2. Estimate each item
3. Unexpected costs
4. Track cumulative differences with adjustments

A possible event that can affect a project outcome or component

What are two factors to consider in risk?

Probability and impact

What are the 4 ways to manage risk?

Eliminate (ideal)
Delay (delay event)
Transfer (ex insurance)
Accept

What is the difference between project risks and critical assumptions?

Risks -> may happen and may impact the project

CA-> need to be true for product to work (value proposition to be ok)
