Everyone had them, they were a constant source of irritation.

Rarely men washed, the spent 4 days on the frontline,4 days in support and 8 in reserve. It was usual for a men to go over months with out washing. This led to a bunch of disease...
Problem with rats
They infested the trenches. They stole food from the soldiers, and ate corpses.
Problem with food
Food was mostly timed meat called bully bread. This was a poor quality of eating.
What did chlorine gas did
Destroyed lung tissues.
What did mustard gas did
Blistered skin and caused blindness
