The Series 79 is a regulatory exam that is required to perform your job as an investment banker. The exam tests all the various components of investment banking, including underwriting, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), bankruptcy, financial statement analysis, valuation, as well as the rules and regulations governing the securities industry.
When the exam initially launched in 2010, it was heavily focused on math concepts and calculations, which comprised about 30% of the exam. However, the Series 79 has evolved tremendously over the past couple of years and become much more of a regulation-focused exam.
You should now expect only about 10% - 15% of the questions to be calculation-based, with the remainder on rules and their applications. This is why understanding and retention are essential to your passing the Series 79.
With this in mind, Knopman Marks, a leader in exam preparation, with the highest pass rates in the industry, has curated these Brainscape flashcards as a study tool to aid in the memorization and retention of key facts and formulas that you must know to pass your Series 79.
The Knopman Marks content combined with Brainscape’s Confidence-Based Repetition study algorithm are perfectly designed to help you to memorize, as well as comprehend and retain the testable information.
The flashcards on this app provided by Knopman Marks are broken into four decks, each covering an essential piece of the Series 79 content:
