About CFP on Brainscape

What is the  CFP?

Administered by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP Board), the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation is a professional certification mark for financial planners.

Candidates will need to pass an exam and meet rigorous experience, education, and ethics requirements. A designation is also subject to an annual certification fee, bi-annual completion of 30 hours education, and submission of an ethics statement.

Preparing for the  CFP

Learning more about the exam is the best way to begin your CFP study preparations. The exam itself has 170 questions and lasts seven hours; the exam format includes multiple-choice questions and mini case studies designed to test the candidate’s knowledge of financial planning situations.

Consequently, becoming a CFP professional is an exclusive club, however, there are several career benefits. Check out these videos from people talking about the positive impact that gaining a CFP accreditation has had for them, at the official CFP website.
