A lack of oxygen in the body

A disease characterized by the obstruction of air flow due to chronic bronchitis or emphysema it is progressive life threatening and is typically caused by cigarette smoking
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
An acute respiratory syndrome in children or infants characterized by obstruction of the larynx hoarseness and a barking cough
Croup
Bluish discoloration of the skin and nail beds due to lack of oxygen in the tissues
Cyanosis
Difficult or labored breathing also known as shortness of breath
Dyspnea
The progressive loss of lung function that is commonly associated with long term smoking
Emphysema
The flap like structure that closes off the larynx during swallowing
Epiglottis
