  • usually acquired from bowel
  • asymptomatic, if symptomatic: thrush, itch, discharge
  • risk factors: diabetes, oral steroids, immune suppression, pregnancy, reproductive age group
  • diagnosis: gram stained preparation, culture
  • treatment: antifungal azoles (clotrimazole, fluconazole)
