Difference between managemnet and Leadership

A

A leader is someone who infleunces and sinpires others to get things done. A leader fosters motivation, respect, trust and loyalty from the workforce.

Leadership is the process of influencing and inspiring others to ahcive the organizational goals

management is responsible for controlling an organization, a group, or a set of entities to achieve a particular objective

Leadership styles

A

Autocratic: An autorcratic leader is one who makes all the decision and prefers to not delage any responsibility. Instead the autocratic (or the authoritarian ) simply tells subordinates what to do.

Adv: Quick decision making

Dis: Opinions or suggestion of the workers are ignroed

Paternalistic: Paternalitic leaders treat their employees they were family members by guiding through a consultation process and acting in the best interest of their subroidinates

Laissez-faire:
Laissez faire leaders are those who have minimal direct input in the work of employees. Instead they allow suborindtes to make their own decision and to co,[;ete takss in their own way

Key limitation: is time consuming as there is lack of direct supervision

Adv: Allows employees to beomce innovative and creative.

Democratic: is a leader who involves employees in the decision making progress

Adv: sharing ideas can lead to improved decisions
Dis: delay decision making because there are more people involved

Situational leadership:
Situational leadership means adapting your management style to each unique situation or task to meet the needs of the team or team members.
