Differentiate between an axial and a tangential rotor combine
In an axial rotor combine, the threshing rotor axis is parallel to the direction of crop flow through the machine.
In a tangential rotor combine, the threshing rotor axis is perpendicular to the direction of crop flow.
The primary difference lies in how the threshing action is achieved. Axial rotors rely on rasp bars or spikes rotating parallel to the ground, while tangential rotors use helical vanes or paddles rotating perpendicular to the ground.
What does a mower do?
A mower cuts down the crop or grass during harvesting
Mowers can be divided into rotary mowers and cutterbars. The former cut the forage by means of impact forces, while the latter employ a shearing action. Both types can be either self-propelled or tractor-powered.
What does a tedder do?
Tedders consist of rotors on a vertical axis inclined slightly forward, on which flexible forks are mounted to lift the forage off the ground and pitch it over backwards.
