A

1994’The Guardian’ accused Hamilton, government minister, of having received brown envelopes stuffed with money from Mohammad Al-Fayed, owner of Harrods, hoped to obtain special favours in return. Hamilton denied ‘cash for questions’ scandal and sued newspapers for libel. He lost, but refused to resign as an mp. Bell stood against him - aim of highlighting corruption in government circles.
