Q

Give the reasons for why we wouldn’t live without plants

A

1) Most energy comes from the sun
2) Plants use some of the sun’s energy to make food during photosynthesis
> They use the food to build “organic molecules” (carbohydrates and protein etc.)
^ they become part of plant cells
3) Organic molecules store the sun’s energy. Energy passes from plants to animals when they eat the plant. from plant > animals > other animals who eat them
4) Photosynthesis can only be carried out by plants, algae and some bacteria. So living things rely on plants to capture and store the sun’s energy.

Q

Give two ways that photosynthesis helps the environment and for respiration to take place

A

There’s always plenty of oxygen as plants release oxygen
help the carbon dioxide level in the atmosphere from getting too high - this is organisms affecting their environment.

Q

Why do we also depend on insects?

A

In order for plants to be pollinated so that the plants can produce fruits, nuts and seeds that we eat
> to ensure our food supply
