What do pronoms relatifs do?
Alternative pronouns connects two clauses, a main clause and a subordinate (relative) clause; and, stand for a noun or a pronoun that is previously mentioned in the main clause
What are the pronoms relatifs?
Qui and que
What is qui?
Qui is the subject form of the relative pronoun, whether its antecedent is a person (who/ that) or a thing (which/ that)
Give me an example (I don’t like people who are always right)
Je n’aime pas les gens qui ont toujours raison
What is que?
Que is the direct object form of the relative pronoun, whether its antecedent is a person (who/ that) or a thing (which/ that)
Give me an example (She admires a singer that I hate)
Elle admire un chanteur que je déteste
